General Information

Book Circulation
Students are allowed to check out 1 book at a time for a 2-week period with an option to renew for an additional 2-week period. Additional books will be checked out to students on a case-by-case basis.

Overdue Books
Book that are not returned by their due dates will be considered overdue. Late fees are not collected, however if a book is not returned, the full book cost will be charged to your school account. Fines can be payed in the Business Office room 100. High school records will not be available to students until all fees and fines are paid.

Computer Use for Students
Students are allowed to use computers before school, starting at 7:15am and continuing throughout the day during study periods and lunches, until the end of the day at 4:30pm. Students should obtain a Library pass from the Main Office during lunch. Students will not be allowed in the library without a valid ID card or pass.

Students are not allowed to eat food in the Library. Water in a closed container is allowed for drinking.

Technology / Electronic Communications Rights and Responsibilities
Lincoln Park High School will provide students with access to the district's electronic communications network.         This network includes communications between the school's local area network, CPS local area network and         Internet access. Students will be held accountable when they promote or teach the misuse of the district's             electronic communciations network.

Students have the right:
To use the district's network for educational purposes including classroom activities and professional or career         development.

Students have the responsibility:
To follow the district's Acceptable Use Policy. This agreement is the guide for acceptable use of the Network. It includes guidelines for personal safety and rules with respect to illegal activity, system security, and inappropriate conduct, respecting resource units, limited expectation of privacy, plagiarism, copyright infringement, inappropriate access of material and other limitations necessary to enable the district to provide this opportunity to use the Network.

Working knowledge of and adherence to the CPS Acceptable Use Policy and CPS Student Code of Conduct is expected. Do not be surprised by termination of network privileges. The following are some violations of the CPS School Code of Cunduct:

1-7    Use of the CPS Network for the purpose of accessing non-educational materials (18).
2-11    Use of the CPS Network for the purpose of distribution or downloading of non-educational material (20).
3-13    Use of the CPS Network or any Information Technology Device for any unauthorized purpose not otherwise listed in this Code (22).
4-12    Knowingly or intentionally using the CPS Network or Information Technology Devices to spread viruses to the CPS Network (24).
5-14    Use of any computer, including social networking websites, or any information technology device, or hacking into the CPS Network to stalk, harass, bully, or otherwise intimidate others, to access student records or other unauthorized information, and/or to otherwise cause a security hazard (26).
6-2    Intentionally causing or attempting to cause all or a portion of the CPS Network to become inoperable (28).
